THE damp weather did nothing to deter members of 1st Hemyock Scout Group holding a successful sale and raising more than £2,000 in two hours, during which a barbecue and cream teas were on sale.

This popular annual event held at the Parish Hall and car park attracts people from all over Devon and Somerset. A queue formed before the sale opened and people continued to flood in throughout the afternoon.

Stalls were piled high with clothing, books, toys and crockery while outside a range of furniture, garden tools and electrical goods were for sale.

Group Scout Leader Andrew Batten expressed thanks to everyone who had set up and run the stalls and to those who supported the afternoon.
