POLICE have been continuing their search this week for 78-year-old Wellington man Paul Hyam, who has been missing for nearly four weeks.
Mr Hyam was last seen by a member of his family at his home at Pyles Thorne Close on Friday, August 26, at about 9am.
He was reported missing later the same day. He was seen on CCTV close to Wellington School later that Friday morning.
In a statement the police say: “His disappearance is out of character and we are concerned for his welfare.
“Paul is described as white, 5ft 10in, with grey hair and of average build.
“He was last seen wearing light chinos, a long-sleeved blue shirt with tie and a blue body warmer.”
DI Angela Burtonwood said: “Our search has focused predominantly on the Wellington area but we are keen for people living in the wider Somerset and Devon areas to assist us with this investigation.
“We would ask any farmers or landowners to check outbuildings or wooded areas which might be on private property.
“As part of our enquiries, we’ve used specially trained search officers and we have been assisted by the cadaver dogs.
“Any information, no matter how small or insignificant you think it might be, could be crucial to this investigation.”
