A SHOP owner in North Street, Wellington, has warned that ‘someone could be killed’ if slates keep falling from the roof of her neighbour’s premises.

Slates from the old Toc H in the street came crashing down onto the road and pavement earlier this year.

The owner of the building secured the slates on the roof at the front of the building but ones at the back are still in danger of falling to the ground.

“Some slates fell into my path early in June – and I went out 15 minutes later and spotted them on the ground,” said Beryl Griffiths, who runs Heidi’s Sewing Room.
