Somerset West and Taunton's motorists will have three road closures to avoid nearby on the National Highways network this week.

But drivers will be able to take some solace in the fact that all of them are only expected to cause slight delays, of under 10 minutes.

The latest expected works list, with notes from National Highways, shows that one closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:

A30, from 8pm October 27 2022 to 5am December 30 2023, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 20 to 31 mobile lane closures for drainage works.

And a further two closures will begin over the next two weeks:

M5, from 8pm December 18 to 4am December 19, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 southbound, junction 24 to junction 25 lane closure for construction.

M5, from 11pm December 19 to 4am December 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M5 both directions, junction 25 to 26 - lane closures for urgent safety barrier repairs.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
