CHATTER-BOX Carole Dabbs, of Priory, Wellington, has raised hundreds of pounds for the Beacon Centre at Musgrove Park Hospital and Macmillan Cancer Support nurses by keeping quiet.
Carole raised £1,610 through a sponsored four-hour silence as a thank you for the treatment her husband Geoff received after being diagnosed with oesophagus cancer in November 2015.
The couple have been married 55 years and Geoff is now well and in remission.
They would like to thank family, friends, staff and customers at Wellington Sports Centre – where Carole swims every day – St John’s Parish Church, the United Reformed Church and shops in Wellington.
