SHEPPY’S of Bradford-on-Tone brewed a special cider for the official opening of BBC Somerset’s new studios in Taunton.
The public broadcaster’s head of local radio, Chris Burns, performed the honours, saying the development would help the station be ‘at the heart of the community’.
BBC Somerset was based in the town centre for nearly 30 years before outgrowing its premises and relocating to Deane Gate Avenue. It plans to broadcast from 6am to 10pm each day.
Meanwhile, Sheppy’s cider is being supped in India.
David Sheppy, master of Cider at the business and sixth generation Somerset cider-marker, travelled to the Deputy High Commissioner’s residence in Mumbai last month to introduce his premium craft cider brand to restaurateurs, bar managers and journalists from across the region.
