ST LUKE’S, Langley, is becoming established as a venue for the arts and creativity, hosting three artists during this year’s 10 Parishes Festival.
In previous years it has been the venue for Max Green’s popular exhibitions featuring watercolours on local subjects.
Sculptor Melanie Deegan and painter/illustrator Jill Newton showed a collection of work related to animals in sculptural and pictorial form, and watercolourist and pet portraitist Innes Davis joined them during the 10 Parishes festival.
Emma Jones, community fundraiser and engagement officer for the National Trust, is giving a talk next week about the efforts the Trust is making to restore Wellington Monument and to capture some of the local stories and connections that have been uncovered about the landmark.
The National Trust has embarked on a multi-million pound project to turn the Monument into a focal point and asset to Somerset. Emma’s talk is on Friday, September 27, at 7.30pm – tickets are £5 on the door and refreshments are available.
Charlotte Stus, Alice Hudson and Andrew Carter are giving an evening recital on Friday, November 15, at 7.30pm – tickets are £10 including refreshments.
