PLANS are in hand for a joint service at St Andrews in Clayhidon to celebrate Candlemas on Sunday (February 3) while the United Benefice of Hemyock with Culm Davy, Clayhidon and Culmstock churches awaits the appointment of a new Priest. It will be a service of Holy Communion at 10.30am.

St Mary’s charity and coffee shop is making a community distribution on Saturday (February 2) when a percentage of last year’s profits will be donated to local groups. The shop is held at the Church Room, Castle Hill, less than 100 yards from the church, and runs from 10am-noon.

The summer fete at Hemyock will not be held in the Recreation Field but in and around St Mary’s. The event is on Saturday, July 13.

The churches’ Electoral Roll is updated this year. Anyone who wants to be included as a church member – giving them voting rights – can pick up a form from the churches. These need to be returned by February 28.
