WELLINGTON School celebrated Commemoration Day and the end of term with traditional aplomb.
The sixth-form leavers and their parents enjoyed an emotional service in Chapel, with anthems sung by the Chapel Choir and resounding hymns including ‘Jerusalem’ and ‘I Vow to Thee my Country’.
After that, the Corps of Drums paraded on the Quad, then guests made their way to the marquee for prize-giving and speeches. Many pupils received prizes for academic and co-curricular prowess and exceptional contributions to school life.
After a Champagne reception on the quad, a leavers’ lunch was held.
During the afternoon, the marquee was transformed for a Gothic Masquerade Ball in the evening which was enjoyed by sixth-formers, staff and parents, who danced to the sounds of Joey the Lips.
