SUNSHINE greeted Britain in Bloom judge Richard Taylor when he visited the Swains Lane Nature Reserve in Wellington to inspect the site.

Wellington to lose its former WH Smith store just five months after takeoverHe was met by representatives of the Swains Lane Nature Reserve Volunteers, Taunton Deane borough councillor Vivienne Stock-Williams, whose portfolio includes parks and leisure, Isabel Ward and the council’s Open Spaces Team. Mr Taylor was impressed with the reserve and complimentary about the dedication and achievement of the volunteers.
The Open Spaces Team and the Swains Lane Nature Reserve volunteers work in close partnership to maintain and develop the site to protect the great crested newts that live in the pond – and for the benefit of visitors to enjoy this beautiful location.
