'Danger to life' and 'do not drive' warning as Storm Chandra set to hit WellingtonVivienne Sutton, a counsellor/ psychotherapist based in Wellington, says the reasons people attend vary enormously – loss, isolation and relationship difficulties, among them.
The group is affiliated to St John’s Church and is seen as a part of the church’s service to the community. It is for adults aged over 18, free to join and open to everyone, whether they have a belief system or not.
The group meets fortnightly on a Wednesday between 7-9pm – earlier in winter – and as it grows it is hoped to offer weekly sessions. It provides an opportunity for people to come together with others in a safe and accepting environment where they can share their difficulties and make new friends. Vivienne has 20 years’ experience running groups and working with people in a variety of professional settings. A committed group of volunteers, who give their time free of charge, support her.
