They told him that thanks to funding offers from various sources – including Taunton Deane Borough Council (TDBC) – it had at last become possible to order two new up-to-date information panels to be positioned at the main entrances to the Reserve.
Mr Burge said: “I was very impressed with the variety of habitats the volunteers have
created and the level of commitment that has enabled these achievements.
“The positive and mutually supportive relationship between the volunteer group and TDBC’s Open Spaces Team has been excellent, and what could have remained as an unusable and overgrown space has instead been transformed into a well-established haven for many types of wildlife, and an asset for the people of Wellington to enjoy.”
