WELLINGTON-based beauty products manufacturer Swallowfield has acquired rival firm The Brand Architekts.

Swallowfield, whose main centre is in Station Road, Wellington, where it has a workforce of about 275 people, acquired the entire issued share capital of the London-based competitor for £11million.

The deal includes brands Dirty Works, King Natured, Argan, Happy Naturals, DrSalts, Superfacialist and Senspa.

The move continues Swallowfield’s ambitions following its acquisition of The Real Shaving Company in 2015. The capital was raised by a placing on AIM, which provided financing of £8.6million, alongside a new debt facility.

The placing was significantly oversubscribed and included new and existing shareholders. Law Firm Ashfords advised on the deal.

Corporate partner Louise Workman, who led the team working on the deal, said: “We were delighted to play a part in Swallowfield’s acquisition of The Brand Architeklts.

This reflects the growth and success of both businesses and their ongoing commitment to the market.

n BRAND Architekts is a successful business that develops and markets a portfolio of beauty, body and haircare brands in the UK and internationally.

Its acquisition is an integral part of Swallowfield’s strategy to complement its core contract manufacturing activities with the continued development of its owned-brands business.

Swallowfield believes the acquisition will make the company stronger financially.

The deal had to be agreed by shareholders who gave their approval at a general meeting at the end of last month.
