COMPUTER novices got to grips with iPads and tablets last Wednesday as part of Get Online week at Wellington Library.

They completed a Touchscreen Basics course, showing them how to swipe, scroll, enlarge and tab, before logging on to the internet to try out the skills they had learnt.

The library is a UK Online centre and offers free courses suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to those who have a working knowledge of the internet.

Courses cover everything from learning how to use a keyboard and a mouse, to socialising, shopping and banking online and emailing and internet safety.

Anyone interested in the courses, which run for five to six weeks on either a Monday morning or a Wednesday afternoon, should visit the library to sign up.
