ADAM Holland, of Wellington, won the Taunton Marathon last Sunday, finishing well clear of the runner-up.

Adam, 35, (pictured) who is married with three girls, describes himself as a ‘semi-pro’ and will attempt to break the world record time for running ten marathons in ten days next month - a record he already holds.

The weather turned out perfectly for a day of running at Taunton and 170 runners took part in the full marathon with more than 700 in the half-marathon.

Adam was representing Tavistock Athletic Club and finished the race in a time of 2.34.36 - about 90 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Tom Merson from Exmouth Harriers won the shorter race in 1.07.06.

Adam, who also holds other world records, plans to run ten marathons in the Lake District starting on Friday, May 13.
