THE Opera Dudes – two fabulous tenors performing at Clayhidon Parish Hall on Saturday (April 14) – have created a great musical comedy double act, neatly summed up as ‘Il Divo meets Morecambe and Wise’.

A former Cambridge Scholar and an ex-builder, code-names Posh & Bricks, joke their way on a journey through their crazy careers, with wonderful music and an ill-judged attempt to turn the audience into a corps de ballet!

This unique cocktail of funny stories, singalongs and heart-rending music is promised to leave the audience both shaken and stirred.

Between them, Neil Allen and Tim Lole have performed more than 50 operas as well as more than 3,000 concert performances in most of the major theatres and concerts halls around Great Britain. Each is an accomplished and established performer in his own field. Their different experiences and backgrounds form an integral part of the act.

Neil’s extraordinary journey as a performer from his early days in Scarrington Miners’ Welfare to St James’s Palace via the President’s Palace in Malta, Villa Carlotta in Lake Como and theatres in Manhattan, will be revealed as part of the show.

Tim, with his elite musical education, could never have dreamed that he could team up with a former bricklayer. But years of study and performances at St Paul’s Cathedral, Trinity College, Cambridge, The National Opera Studio, Covent Garden, Scottish Opera and Glyndebourne finally enabled him to achieve this dream!

The show starts at 7.30pm, doors open at 7pm. Tickets are £10 and a pre-booked supper £5. To reserve, call Caroline Bendle on 01823 681047 or email [email protected]. As usual a licensed bar will be available.
