PAPERBOY Ben Higby is appealing for information after he had his bike stolen on the Cades Farm estate in Wellington on Sunday afternoon.

Ben, 16, of Oakfield Park in the town, who was visiting his girlfriend, has worked for South Street newsagent E J Teare in South Street since he was 13.

Lorraine Lettley, from the shop, said: “He’s a good lad – he works seven days a week rain or shine. He’s worked so hard for that bike and someone has come and pinched it.”

Lorraine said the bike was a Specialist Rockhopper Sport MTB, like pictured above, which she thought was almost new and retails for £500 to £600.

Ben had saved up money for the bike and borrowed the rest to from his brother Scott – and is paying that back.
