THE chairman of a Wellington charity that supports vulnerable people is defiant that she will carry on following the theft of hundreds of pounds worth of food.
Heartless thieves broke in to Westcountry Health Education and Research Enterprise's drop-in cafe at the Northfield Centre, North Street on Good Friday night or Easter Saturday morning, making off with up to £400 worth of food destined for lunches for local elderly people with disabilities and health problems.
Barbara Ford, who has run WHERE for 12 years, said: "I feel sick that people can do such a thing. We had just been to the cash and carry for supplies for the café. This is a nightmare."
