A TRACTOR ended up on its side after swerving to avoid a car in Ford Street, Wellington.

The tractor, being driven by Nick Payne of Wrangway, clipped the side of Ford House and toppled over, blocking the road, as the car sped off,

Nick and his son were unhurt in the incident, which happened shortly before 10pm on Tuesday of last week, but the tractor is considered a write off.

The police and a fire engine and crew from Wellington attended the incident.
