VILLAGERS in Milverton say they are continuing to have problems with their telecoms services because of a phone exchange that is ’past its sell-by date’.

Periodic faults mean sometimes they can make and receive calls within the village but not outside it, and at other times calls simply cut out. Villagers have also complained about superfast broadband, which is available to some in the village but not others.

Villager and Taunton Deane borough councillor Gwilym Wren said: "We’ve been getting problems in the exchange at Milverton for at least the last nine months.

"They appear to be related to the fact it’s an old exchange and past its sell-by date. The whole exchange is in need of an upgrade."
