NHS England has confirmed that Milverton’s doctors’ surgery will close at the end of

February.

Patients will have to travel three miles to Wiveliscombe for a GP appointment.

The practice will be replaced by a prescription collection and delivery service and nurse-led vaccination and health wellness sessions for people with long-term conditions.

Milverton Parish Council chairman Dr Julie Richardson said the announcement was ‘very sad but a foregone conclusion’ as the Wiveliscombe surgery was too large for the town.
