THE successful Oake and District Post Office and Community Shop is in danger of closing if it cannot find a treasurer.
The post office and shop has been run for the benefit of the local community for the last five years by volunteers who managed to keep it open even during the two bouts of snow.
Regular customers come from the village, the nearby primary school, golf club – and ‘through traffic’.
The Post Office has granted a contract which will allow continued trading and exciting plans are in store for the shop’s future involving a move to new local premises. However, someone is urgently needed to become treasurer of the Community Benefit Community.
If anyone can help they should contact chair of the management committee Alex Antill on 01823 336661 or Emmets@
outlook.com.
n The shop would also appreciate the help of an architect to advise and draw up plans for new premises.
