VILLAGERS in Hemyock have raised £2,000 to send four Rotary ShelterBoxes to earthquake-hit Haiti.
They responded to a plea from Hemyock resident Roger Lambert, who is the area Shelterbox organiser for the Exe Valley and Upper Culm.
Roger went to Hemyock Market on Saturday morning and on Sunday he attended the Baptist Church where friends from St Mary's Church were also gathering, to explain what Shelterbox was doing for that country.
Roger said: "Some 930 boxes have already been sent to Haiti and 1,000 more were being packed over the weekend.
