NEW Poppy Appeal organiser for Wellington Angie Filler is appealing for volunteers to help this year’s annual fundraiser.

Poppy Appeal fortnight this year runs between October 28 and November 11 and volunteers are welcome even if they can only spare a little time. Anyone who would like to help can phone Angie on 07598 596092 or email [email protected]

Alternatively, Angie will be at a Royal British Legion coffee morning at Wellington Community Centre in White Hart Lane on Saturday, September 23, between 10.30am-12.30pm, where prospective volunteers can meet and have a chat with her.

Angie has taken over the role of organising the local Poppy Appeal from Monica Summers, who did the job for 20 years.

This year’s concert in aid of the Poppy Appeal is at Wellington School on Friday, October 20 – tickets will be available soon.
