PET owners in the Wellington area are being warned that a local dog has died of the deadly canine parvovirus and they should ensure their pets receive the appropriate vaccination course.

Eric Chant, of the mount Veterinary Hospital, in High Street, told the Wellington Weekly News that a 22-week old unvaccinated puppy from Taunton had been taken to the practice two days after the owners noticed it had been passing bloody diarrhoea, but despite intensive fluid and drug therapy the puppy died later the same day.
