Wellington Folk & Custom Society is inviting visitors to its Wellington Wassail at the Cottage Inn in Champford Lane in the town.

Visitors are invited to bless the apple trees and take along pots and pans, drums, whistles and bells to scare off the ‘Maulscrawls’ spirits.

The event will also feature the wassail singers, the song-keeper, master of ceremonies, wise maiden, Modred the Dragon, Mr Double Danger the Second and Boot Strap Border morris

dancers.

Traditional folk songs and a music session in the pub will follow, which musicians and singers are welcome to join in.
