CHAIRMAN of Wellington Basins Volunteer Group Jenny Vickery accepts a cheque for £285.82 from Wellington Operatic Society.

The money was raised from ‘bucket’ collections following the operatic group’s show ‘Guys ’n’ Dolls’.

The Basins group is hoping to purchase gazebos to be used at outdoor events.

Its main aim is to look after the Basins area for everyone to enjoy, for fishing, exercise, walking, observing wildlife and dog walking. This year swans were an added attraction.
