Wellington fire fighter Andy Green has been celebrated after reaching 20 years with the service.

Wellington resident Andy joined the service in 2003, and has since become 'a familiar face on the pumps.'

In a social media post congratulating the long serving fire fighter, a spokesperson for Wellington station said:

"We would like to congratulate Andy Green for reaching his 20 years of service.

"Andy is a reliable and familiar face on the pump, most likely found in the drivers seat waving. Andy has a wealth of knowledge about the job as well as the local area which is invaluable in the more obscure locations.

"Congratulations and thank you for your commitment to the Station."
