THE Wellington-based beauty and cosmetics manufacturer Swallowfield has announced a record level of sales and underlying profits in its final results for 2017.

The firm, which employs 319 workers in Wellington, reported revenue growth of 36 per cent to £74.3m, up from £54.5m last year.
It also posted a 180 per cent year-on-year increase in underlying operating profits – the profit before exceptional items – to £5.6m from £2m.
Swallowfield said the strong results had been driven by significant improvements in business performance and strong momentum in its branded business.
