A WELLINGTON pensioner claims she was refused travel on a bus in the High Street because she was a ‘minute too early’ to use her concessionary travel pass.

“I wanted to go to Tonedale and the driver told me it wasn’t 9.30am yet and I would have to pay £2.
“I told him to look at the town hall clock and pointed to my own watch, but he told me I couldn’t travel free and drove off.
“This is not the first time this has happened and there have been other things, too,” said Janice, who suffers from arthritis.
“I was with a group of ladies at the St John’s Church the other day and a bus drove straight past us. He could see we were waiting for a bus.”
