SIXTH formers at Wellington School are celebrating exam success after A Level and BTEC results were announced.

A Level, T Level and BTEC students around the country discovered the outcome of their sixth form or college exams on Thursday morning, August 14, for results day.

According to Wellington School, for the second year in a row, all medicine and veterinary applicants have been offered places and achieved the top grades of As and A*s in all subjects to secure their places in these highly competitive courses.

Eight students have secured A*s or As in all subjects and almost a third of all students achieved A* and A grades.

Furthermore, for those going onto university, the school said they anticipate that all students will be accepted into either their first or second choice.

BTEC Sport students have also excelled too, with a plethora of Distinction or Distinction* grades across the board.

Sixth form student Issy is leaving the school with four England U18 Women's Rugby caps and has now backed this up by gaining top grades in two A Levels and BTEC Sport, securing her dream to go to Loughborough University, whilst continuing to play elite rugby and study Sports Technology.

A spokesperson for the school said: “The overall destinations of our students are as wide ranging as their personal interests, reflective of their self-belief and ambition and our desire to be as bespoke in our support of them as possible.

“Students have also applied for the military, apprenticeships and direct employment, reflective of the many different pathways apart from university that we support our students to achieve.”

Students will be leaving Wellington School for a range of courses such as Medicine at Nottingham and East Anglia, Veterinary Medicine at Liverpool, Computing at Exeter, Drama and English at Manchester, Mechanical Engineering at Warwick and Bristol, Law at Cardiff, Biomedical Science at York, Psychology at Southampton and Mathematics at Bath.

Others will be joining courses includingFashion Management at University of the Arts London, Technical Theatre and Stage Management at RADA, Music Production and DJ Performance at Point Blank Music School and Agri-Management at Newcastle.

Results day for GCSE exams will take place next week on Thursday, August 21.
