STUDENTS from the Richard Huish College are celebrating yet another incredibly strong set of results after putting tremendous hard work and dedication into their studies.
The overall A Level pass rate for the college is 99 percent, with 31 percent of students achieving an A/A* and almost 60 percent achieving high grades A*-B, significantly above the national average.
82 percent of A Level students gained A*- C grades with 98 students, more than 10 percent, achieving three or more A*/A grades.
Principal, Emma Fielding, said: “The results achieved are remarkable.
“Our students should be incredibly proud of themselves, and I am delighted by both their academic success and the positive impact they have had on our college through their curiosity, determination and compassion.”
“We are particularly delighted that two Huish fine art students and five Huish photography students were individually commended by the exam board as being amongst the very top performing students in the country out of 40,000 entries nationally.”

Student results on Extended Diploma Vocational qualifications were equally exceptional, with over 85 percent of students achieving high grades, and at least one Distinction grade in their profile and 25 students (16 percent) gaining the very top results of triple Distinction*.
Former Wellington School pupil Jacob Huntley gained an Biology A*, Chemistry A, Environmental Science A and is pursuing medicine. He was looking at clearing options with Birmingham but as places are limited his next plan is to take a gap year and apply to Oxford, King’s College and Newcastle University.
Freyja Shaw gained a Geology A*, Biology A*, Chemistry A and will be going to Durham University to study Archaeology while Marie Sumadsad, (formerly Court Fields School) completed a Level 2 Pathway at Huish before her A Levels. She gained a Graphic Design A*, Photography A*, Business, Marketing and Management distinction*.
She said: “I’m going to be studying fashion marketing in uni. The teachers are being amazing for supporting me through this journey, especially during my level 2 pathway”.
Previous Court Fields School pupils including Toby Buffham gained Classic Civilisation C, Spanish C, Late Modern History A, and will be going to Exeter University while Adam Montgomery who gained Bs across the board is Geography, Maths and Biology is hoping to be a scientist after studying biomed.

Kobe Duheaume achieved Psychology A*, Maths A, and Computer Science A, with EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) A* and will be studying Clinical Psychology at Exeter University.

“Success can be measured in many ways, and for some, simply reaching this milestone despite life's challenges is an extraordinary accomplishment. Remember that exam grades are only one part of your story.
