A WIVELISCOMBE couple celebrated their golden wedding on Saturday (September 16).

Graham Gregory, 74, and his wife Carol, 69, (pictured) were married 50 years ago at Pitcombe, near Bruton.

They have three grown-up children, three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Mr Gregory, a retired nurse, met his wife while working in a fish and chip shop in Wincanton.

“It was a short romance and we were married within nine months of meeting each other,’’ he said.

“We get on very well together. We argue sometimes – but then who doesn’t.”
