THE Mayor of Wellington has congratulated the directors of the new ‘world-class’ Mount Vets veterinary hospital on the outskirts of town.

Cllr Gary James and the Mayoress, his wife Bee, visited the new purpose-built facilities on the A38 near Cades Farm and were given a tour of the hospital and a look behind the scenes.

“This new pristine building will offer clients and staff an up-to-date working environment and a place which offers up-to-date and world-class facilities,” the Mayor told members of Wellington Town Council on Tuesday (April 3).

“The scope of the technical detail and thought which has gone into the design and layout for the services on offer, which can also cater for increased capacity, is much to be admired and attention to detail was obviously the key.

“The long-standing traditions of Mount Vets in the town and continuing its presence locally pays testament to the foresight of the directors offering a world-class veterinary service which surpasses any in the county.”

Mount Vets first started in Wellington nearly 75 years ago and has gone on to have a

45-strong staff of vets, nurses and support staff.
