A NUMBER of workers at Dene Barton Community Hospital at Cotford St Luke have been suspended and an investigation launched by the NHS after ‘serious allegations’ were made about the treatment of a patient in their care.

Wellington among three fire crews working to free horse trapped in farm slurry pitIt is believe that as many of eight members of staff at the hospital have been suspended. The hospital has 39 beds, where patients can be admitted under the care of a consultant.
The hospital has a large team of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
An NHS spokesman said: “We have received a complaint about the care of a patients’ rehabilition ward. While we investigate this complaint a number of members of staff at the hospital have been suspended.”
