THE youngest volunteer at The Old Vicarage, part of the Abbeyfield Society, in Wellington, Rowan Scholes, ten, has won an award.

Rowan has been volunteering for over a year, and arranges games, raffles and helps with teas and coffees.

The Abbeyfield Society provides care homes for the elderly across the UK.

A small party was arranged for residents and staff and was a complete surprise for Rowan.

The Making Time Award for a Shining Star was awarded to Rowan by

divisional director Paul Boult.
