LONDON Marathon runner Zac Peters, from Rockwell Green, says people can still give money to the charity he ran for.
Zac, who finished the 26.2-mile course on Sunday in just over six hours, says he beat his £2,000 fundraising target for Action for Children (AFC) but people can still donate, no matter how small the amount.
Zac, 37, said: “It was the most incredible experience with so many people shouting your name and thousands of runners raising funds for such good causes.
“Going through London and seeing thousands of people and all the sights was breath-taking. While it was extremely hard work, I thoroughly enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone.
“AFC genuinely helps children and foster and adoptive parents in real ways that genuinely change lives.”
AFC helped Zac and his wife through the complex process of adopting a disadvantaged child from a British home and Zac felt he wanted to give something back to the charity now that their son has been settled with them over a year.
Before the marathon Zac had never done more running than in the occasional game of amateur football but he prepared with lots of training over the previous six months.
