Community station 10Radio at Wiveliscombe is planning to hold its annual meeting next month live on air.

The meeting provides an opportunity for directors, presenters and listeners to review how the station has performed over the previous 12 months and present plans for the year ahead.

The Covid-19 crisis makes a physical meeting impossible this year, so the meeting on Thursday, November 12, will be held on the Zoom video conferencing platform live on air at 7pm.

Chairman Andrew Norris said: “This means that anyone interested in hearing or contributing to discussions about what has been achieved in the past year, what our plans are for the future and how everyone can be a part of them is welcome and able to join in.

“In particular we shall be discussing the proposal and constitution for changing the status of 10Radio from a Community Interest Company (CIC) to a charity, and how we are proposing to go about refreshing the station’s programme schedule.”

The Covid-19 crisis has seen volunteer presenters join the ranks of those working from home, creating and recording programmes in garden sheds and spare rooms ready to broadcast around the Ten Parishes.

The 10Radio Studio was refurbished just before the March lockdown – and then mothballed – but live broadcasting of breakfast shows has been re-introduced, although a cautious approach is being adopted to re-opening the studio with strict measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Anyone who would like to take part in the annual meeting should contact the secretary, Mary Hayward, or leave a message at the studio on 01984 624137, by Saturday, October 31. Details of how to join the meeting will be sent out closer to the date.
