OF the top five teams in Division A of the Wellington Ex-Services Skittles League, there were three winners and two losers.

Home Guard 2 have gone clear following their 10 pin win over Reservists who are now fourth. Cottage Pies beat Angels by seven and move up to joint second with Relyon who lost to Bell Green (who are now sixth) by 24. Holywell Lake beat O.B.A.by three to go fifth, Wardens are seventh after their 51 pin win over Fireguard A (joint biggest of the night). The other biggest win was by Rebels who beat Hot shots by 51.

Queens Legs beat Oaks by 27 and Muscotts beat Report Centre A by 17.

Anyone of the top four teams can still win the division if results go their way but if Home Guard 2 win their remaining two games they cannot be caught. This week Home guard 2 are home to bottom side Hot Shots, Relyon are at home to Reservists and Cottage Pies are away to Report Centre A.

Division B champions Mowers signed off the season in style, winning the league by six points following their 11 pin win over Odds & Ends and second placed King Pins losing to All Stars by six.

Scuppas and the Rugby Boys share third place after both won at home. Scuppas beat Home Guard 4 by the night’s biggest winning margin of 54 while the Rugby Boys beat foresters by 12.

Outsiders finished fifth after winning by two against United Services - the closest match. Although Ex-servicemen lost to Moonrakers by 11 they are sixth and Foresters seventh.

Slap bang in the middle in eighth place are United Services. All Stars are ninth and Moonrakers 10th.

Odds & Ends are eleventh and Soccerites are twelfe after losing to Stragglers by 20 in their back match.

Stragglers with two wins in the week are 13th. A After Tuesday’s back match they played Railwayites and beat them by 27. That result leaves the Railwayites in 14th and Home Guard 4 winning the wooden spoon.
