THE Open Day at Wellington Bowling Club was a great success - thanks mainly to the weather.

Twelve new bowlers came along to try their hand at the game and three others said they would be pleased to have some free coaching at a later date.

A good mixture of people of varying ages were keen to give bowls a try including a gentleman who needed a bowls wheelchair to help overcome a disability. The coaches were very pleased to help them all.

Three club coaches were available to give their valuable support. Angie Moore, Janet Moore and Richard Whiting were pleased to help on the day.

The club would also like to thank everyone who gave their time including all the experienced bowlers who supported the coaches and all those who helped with drinks and refreshments.

It was a very pleasant and worthwhile day and was enjoyed by everyone.
