AFTER a successful test at Silverstone, Wellington teenage motorcycle racer Bradley Richman had the opportunity to attend a further official British Superbike test day at Donington Park where he gained valuable track time ahead of the opening round of the season, also being held at Donington this weekend (7-9 August), writes Kerry Rawson.

The morning test sessions started brilliantly for Bradley after he made a couple of adjustments to the bike, which in turn made a huge difference and enabled him to reduce his lap time by over a second straight away.

Then, after a few more tweaks in the next session, he reduced the time even further. Later on in the afternoon sessions, though, things didn’t go exactly as planned.

Bradley said: “I was feeling really good with the bike and got down to a 1:13.1 with one session left. I was feeling amazing and really happy with the bike but then half-way through the last session I lost the front going into Coppice Corner.

“I’m okay, just sore, and the bike only suffered minor damage, so I’d like to thank the marshals, medics and officials at bsb for their help and making sure I was okay.

“Also thanks to rst leathers, Shark Helmets and Alpinestars for keeping me safe. I’ve learnt a lot during both test days and despite the incident I feel prepared and ready to race this weekend.”
