WELLINGTON ended a miserable season in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League with a defeat away to Wembdon on Saturday.
It means they will finish bottom and will be playing in the Somerset League next season. Under the rules of this league they cannot have an overseas’ player.
Ironically, Australian batsman and wicketkeeper Kayden Hine ended a lean spell by top scoring with 55 for Wellington at Wembdon. The visitors made 197 all out with Sam Whitefield also scoring 34 and the home side clinched third place in the division with a three-wicket victory.
