KILVE and Watchet maintained their unbeaten records in the first division of the West Somerset Cricket League with impressive victories.

Kilve bowled out Brompton Ralph for 84 in their home game with James Payne snapping up 4-20 while Tom Wilcox took 3-14 and Jay Darrell 2-10. Sam Winter (26) and Tom Winter (10) were the only batters to score double figures. Kilve knocked off the runs with skipper Peter Stone (26) being the only batter to lose his wicket. Tom Sherburn was 25 not out and Wilcox 15 not out.

Victory enabled Kilve to stay 35 points clear of Watchet who have a game in hand. Watchet beat Over Stowey by 129 runs after scoring 203-9 in their 40 overs with Matt Lovell top scoring with 62 from 60 balls. Alastair Harrison made 35 and Paul Sparks 29. Kieran Barrow took 3-34 and Indika Wearawarna 3-36.

Stowey never recovered from losing three wickets for 15 runs and were bowled out for 74 in 26.1 overs with Martin Strong almost unplayable with figures of 5-17 while Dan Bowden took 2-12. Liam Barrow top scored for Stowey with 26.

Bridgetown, who trail Watchet by four points but have played eight matches, were awarded 35 points after Bagborough conceded their fixture.

Champions Ashbrittle dropped points after their game at home to bottom side Winsford was abandoned because of rain with last season’s winners having made 263 all out in 39.4 overs. Luke Williams top scored with 89 off 73 balls while Callum White scored 49 and Andy Hill 36. Both sides were awarded 22 points.

Morebath beat East Huntspill by 41 runs in a high-scoring match. The home side piled up 302-5 in their 40 overs with R Bowden being their star with 157 which included ten fours and 14 sixes. Ollie Watt took 3-31 in nine tidy overs.

In reply Huntspill hit 261-5 before running out of overs with Watt scoring 106 off 85 balls and Dallen Doyle 66 off 64 balls. T Radford took 3-47.

Crowcombe maintained their position at the top of the second division after beating Stogumber away by 72 runs. Batting first Crowcombe scored 154 after being 35-5 at one stage. Jack Lewis scored 33, Richard Baker 30 and D Fawden 31 not out. M Richings took 3-40 and S Yaw 3-31.

After a bright start, Stogumber struggled with the bat and were bowled out for 82 in 21 overs with Richings hitting a top score of 27. Baker took 6-25 and M Warne 3-48.

Second-placed Lydeard St Lawrence, with a game in hand on the leaders, won by three wickets in a rain affected home game against Churchinford, who were bowled out for 95 in 35.1 overs with Chris Roberts hitting an unbeaten 94 which included 18 fours. Mark Gabriel scored 24 and Andrew Layard 26 while Tom Westcott took 3-29.

Chasing a revised target of 195 in 40 overs, Lydeard scored 196-7 with Westcott steering them to victory with 66, which included six fours and five sixes. Edward White scored 32 and Tom Bennett 25 not out.

Sampford Arundel’s hopes of staying with the leaders suffered a blow when they lost by 21 runs at home to Stoke St Mary who scored 275-4 with Daniel Batchelor blasting 183 not out. Sampford replied with 254-7 with Rupert Lyon-Taylor scoring 87 and Vince Milton 82.
