WELLINGTON Cricket Club’s overseas player for 2016 – the South African wicket keeper/batsman Zandre Swartz – has captured his second playing award of 2016 by taking the Taunton and District Sunday League’s batting trophy with an average of 84.25.

In the past season he hit two centuries – 130no against Taunton St Andrews and 104 against Bridgwater. It was a close run thing though as Zandre’s average was just 5/100s of a run better than another overseas player who played locally– Australian Josh Marrs, who played for Wembdon, averaged 84.20.
