A SPECIAL T20 Challenge Match takes place at Wellington Cricket Club this Friday evening, June 30, when a team selected by club president Duncan Short and a team selected by the Past Players Association Officers take on each other.

The game is the second of its kind and 2017’s version will be dedicated to the memory of former Red and Blacks player Neil Fullstone who passed away earlier this season, writes David Derrick.

The association will be making its second ‘full’ playing excursion since it was formed in 2012 and will be looking to win this match for the first time, having lost out in 2016 to what was then a WCC Chairman’s XI.

Selection for both teams has been an enjoyable process and will be reuniting some who have not seen each other for some time for what will be a well drilled, yet enjoyable encounter.

Pre-match will see both teams assemble for photos and formalities around 5.45pm with play set to begin at 6.00pm and afterwards there will be a presentation made in Neil’s honour that will be coordinated by Tim Salter, captain of the PPA side, and some social time to recall the past and catch up in general.
