THE grounds which will host the latter stages of the three strands of the Baker Cup this summer are now set and the competition has a new partner in Taunton St Andrews CC in its special 80th season of continuous competition, writes Competition Secretary David

To start matters off there will be a Super Cup match between current Cup holders North Petherton and current Shield holders Ashbrittle on Sunday, April 30,at Taunton CC from 4.00pm; this new concept is a way of welcoming in the milestone that 2017 represents to the Competition and follows the well-used footballing model.
With Somerset CCC not being available to the Competition for the Cup Final in 2017 due to international commitments in June and July the centrepiece game has been re-located to Taunton CC with the semi-finals being held at Taunton Deane and Taunton St Andrews.
Wellington and Staplegrove continue to host the Terry Mockridge Memorial Shield semi-finals and final respectively and the Davies-Bishop Trophy will be contested on a knockout basis and the final will be at Staplegrove.
