WITH both the lst and 2nd teams winning, Wellington 3rd XI made it a hat-trick of wins for the club with a five-wicket victory over Wembdon 5th XI in Division Seven Red of the Somerset Cricket League.
Wembdon, who chose to bat first, scored 167 all out after recovering from 42-5 with S Paling and J Hurford both scoring 43. Tom O’Neil, Tyler Fyfe and Connor Wickendon both snapped up two wickets as Wembdon were bowled out for 167 in 38.1 overs.
Oli Hutchings (76) and A Sudarsanan (41) set up victory for Wellington with an opening partnership of 125 before both departed on the same score. Wellington lost another wicket quickly before going on to record a comfortable victory, although they remain one off the bottom.
Wellington 3rd XI play at home to Taunton St Andrews B XI in another league match on Saturday, June 7.
