WELLINGTON, who have suffered two defeats in less than a week, look to bounce back when they play at home to Taunton Deane 2nd XI in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League on Saturday.

Wellington were enjoying a very good spell before losing to North Petherton in the Baker Cup last week and then suffering a league defeat at Bridgwater over the weekend.

However, they remain fourth in the table and, with home advantage, should fancy their chances against the Deane, both sides having won three and lost three matches this season.

Wellington’s aim this season is to consolidate in the Somerset Division following last season’s promotion.

Wellington’s second string are away to Horrington in Division Five of the Monmouth Scientific Somerset League. Only one point separates the top two sides - Ashbrittle and Wiveliscombe - in the first division of the West Somerset League.

Ashbrittle play away to Bagborough on Saturday while Wivey are home to fourth-placed West Monkton.
