WELLINGTON face a crucial away game against struggling Street in the Somerset Division of the West of England Premier Cricket League this coming Saturday.

Although Street are second from bottom they are only 18 points behind Wellington who still have work to do if they are going to avoid relegation.

On Saturday unpredictable Wellington produced a fine display to beat second-placed Chard by three wickets with only seven balls to spare.

Skipper Arron Campbell is having a good season and he made 60 for Wellington who were 253-7 in response to the South Somerset side’s score of 249-7.

But in a division which is very tight, only 43 points separate second from bottom. Wellington moved up to sixth after Saturday’s victory.

In the Monmouth and Somerset League, Wellington 2nd XV play at home to their Street counterparts in Division Five while Wellington 3rd XI entertain Ilminster in Division Seven South.

The top match in the first division of the West Somerset League is the clash between leaders West Monkton and Ashbrittle. Monkton have played two more games than Ashbrittle who are 52 points adrift.

Wiveliscombe, second in the table, are away to Bishops Hull.

In Division Two, leaders Brompton are home to Stoodleigh who have to win if they are going to stay with the top two.
