WELLINGTON Under 15s made the short trip to Bishops Hull on Sunday and ran out comfortable winners by 148 runs.

Opting to bat first Wellington openers Brock Vallance and Ned Vellacott took the score to 29 before the latter departed, bringing skipper Oliver Hutchings to the crease.

The captain took the game to the hosts, finding boundaries all around the park, and reached his retiring score of 53 off only 24 deliveries and included 9 4s and 2 6s. Vallance continued his fine form, as he brought up his second half century in consecutive days, in a chanceless knock.

Further runs were added at a good rate by Archie Evans (27), William Box (8 no), and a quick fire 35 no from George Corp, meaning a formidable 223 was posted at the changeover.

Eleven runs an over was always going to be a big task, particularly as Bishops Hull could only field nine players.

Shayan Barthukar bowled a lively opening spell without reward, but wickets for Jacob Greenlee (2), Fred Sydney (2), and one a piece for Kazi Hogue, William Box, George Corp and Ned Vellacott, meant the visitors travelled home as deserved winners. Scores: Wellington U15s 223-3 (20 overs), Bishops Hull U15 75 (18.5 overs).
